Mt. Kilimanjaro - Day 3

She gave us:
Freezing cold temperatures, rapidly thinning air, low visibility
with extreme cloud cover, and a few minutes, just a few minutes of:
awe inspiring beauty!

 

Part of the glacier valley, formed during
the last ice age. It was 2 miles across
and miles upon miles long!

As quickly as she posed for us above, she
shrouded herself back in mystery
moments thereafter.

The night I wanted to die, due to hypoxia.
We all still needed to fill our water
bottles fast, before the giant jug
of water froze.

In all my years of growing up in Boston,
and my early winter travels to Iceland,
I never remember a night so cold
as this.

Wus.
