The Serengeti: Lions
While we did not get to see the much hoped for 'kill'
we did have our share of lionesses to see
(and two distance shots of a male)

We found ourselves a
lionness just hanging
about under this tree,
3 metres from the
rover

out her possible
prey

Maybe she recently
ate, as she seemed
extremely nonchalant

Humans could make a
tasty treat. I suggested
to our drives James, that
he go out and try to
pet her

Our fist view of
a male lion. We were
not very close, this is
at 300 mm

The big male yawns,
not concerned at all
about coming closer for
our photographic pleasure

She is tired, and puts her
cub up into the loan tree,
so she can rest and fully
protect her cub
