Amsterdam
A Canal Cruise

I never got to the cliche but requisite canal cruise in 1999. Here, you embark down many
of Amsterdams loveliest canals, starting from near Centraal Station and passing
the Amstel River and the harbour along the way back
. As always, it was cloudy and overcast.

Part of the comprehensive canal 'locking'
system, these locks are opened and
closed at specified intervals to clean
out the canal systems and
flush all the grime into the
main harbour

You can see atleast 5 bridges
all the way down. Very cool
view you can only get while
on the canal

and only (I believe) natural

All the other canals in the city
are man made!

There is yet much disrepair
about, as this ruined

Amsterdam has some
industry along the harbour -
this might be a power
plant perhaps

on the canal cruise. Very common
sight from amongst the roads that run
along the canals
