Sixaola, Costa Rica

We spent about 3 hours in this border town, getting all our stamps,
fees and tickets to get into Panama. For non-Costa Ricans, it costs
approximately $3 US to cross. Costa Ricans pay $40. Obviously, an
agreement between the 2 countries to keep the 'lower' classes in
their appropriate countries. Plenty of gringos crossing here.

The town market, where one can buy
anything from canned peaches to
rubber boots (but not exactly the big,
monopolistic, environmentally and socially
irresponsible company that has everything
one could ever want, WalMart).

Once done, we walk the
bridge into Panama.

From pickup trucks to
tractor trailers to foot
traffic and bikes, this
bridge over the Sixaola
River supports them all.
