La Ceiba, Honduras
Home to where my brother lived in Honduras for 3+ years, La Ceiba
is known as the party city of Honduras. It is also a rainy city, and a strong
rainstorm ruined are trip to Utila; the western most Bay Island.
However, we went to Copan instead; a suitable substitute.

La Ceiba's claim to fame is that the Vaccaro Brothers planted bananas in the area,
and created Standard Fruit de Honduras, known in the United States as the Dole Company

donkeys and such exist in this formerly
powerful banana producing town

style while in Ceiba

The docks that Dole used to
use for exporting all the fruits. Since
Dole pulled out of Ceiba, the city
is reputed to be going steadily
downhill.
