Cave Temples of Ellora
Part I
"There are 34 rock cut caves at Ellora or Verul dating from 5th to
13th century and comprising three groups of religion, namely
Buddhism, Hinduism and Jainaism, which are semi-lunar in nature."

We walk around the main temple
within the open area. Caves
line either side, and all of this
was hewn from the rock of
Charandari hill.

and goddesses are carved
out of the vertical stone.

lesser people at the
feet of the gods...
