Sriranganatha Temple, Dariya Daulat Bagh
and Tipu Sultan's Gumbaz

Sri Ranganatha Swamy Temple, located in
Srirangapatna, 15 km from
Mysore.

Constructed by a Ganga Chieftan Tirumalarayna in
894, it was later expanded
and includes enormous
blocks of granite.

Dariya Daulat Bagh

Tthe summer palace of Tipu
Sultan, built in 1784. It is
square in plan, built on a
raised stone plinth, has teak
pillars running along the
outer edge,
enclosing a corrdor.

Tipu Sultan's Gumbaz

This tomb and mosque was
built by Tip Sultan as a tribute
to his illustrious father, Hyder
Ali (1722-1784), after his
death. It is at the eastern
extreme of Srirangapatna.
