The Isle of Capri:
More Views and the Tiberius' Villa
The villa is situated on the western promontory of the island.
It was an imperial residence only until the 2nd century AD,
it was built by the emporer Tiberius, who succeeded
the Emporer Augustus and ruled from AD 14 - 37.

The lower foundations of the
original Villa here unearthed
by archaeological excavation
of the 1930's by Amedeo Maiuri.
