The
Road to Positano
Driving past the northern road to the Amalfi coast, we
instead chose to drive down to Salerno, and then head
north along the coast.
The
ocean front cliff sides
throughout much of the
Amalfi coast are covered
in old homes; built right
into the rock faces.

time and energy in
blasting the roads out
of otherwise steep to
sheer cliff faces...

did not blast enough
space for the large touristic
buses that constantly bring
people around. Here you
can see how the roads are
supported with many
thousands of stones beneath
them...

coastline weaves in
and out like the fjords of
Scandinavia.

locals grow their
huge Italian lemons
wherever enough soil exists
to grow them. The liquor,
"limoncello" is the tastiest
lemon liquor in the world!
