The decoration of the niche
consists of a beautiful
mosaic, bringing to mind the
magnificence of Oriental
carpets. A type of
glass paste was used for
the mosaic work.

supported by two

The Arch of Caligola.
Leads from the Forum to the
northern walls of the city.
This arch is dedicated to
Caligola, while the other
at the end of this road
known as Fortuna, has an
arch dedicated to Nero.

running the length of the
forum, perhaps up the
Road Fortuna, beyond
