completely walled in. It
struck me as strange
indeed.

wall seems to ring around
the first; combing to make
the structure a full
ellipse at one time, long
long ago.

Even the iron rods
that adjoin between
adjacent stones have
been removed for new
construction projects
long ago.

The Colosseum is undergoing
considerable reconstruction
right now, and this slowly
collapsing wall surely
illustrates the need for
us to all care for our
treasures of antiquity.

Where once a Roman cross
was inlaid into the stone,
only now be there the
negative space from
which it was removed.

Colosseum we have
three fantastic columns
from what must have been
a wonderful temple.
