Arch of Titus
The siege of Jerusalem began under Vespasian; but when he ascended
to the throne as emperor, his son Titus continued the siege into the city
was taken. For many many long months the Roman army had cut off the city,
with internal strife and fighting amoung "warlords" taking a greater toll on the
population than did the Roman army. In fact, the end of this siege has the
distinction of being both the taking and liberation of the city.

The sun was setting,
and this was as close
to the Arch of Titus
as we could get.
