Piazza di Spagna and the Trinita dei Monti
The church, the flight of steps and the fountain form the
most elegant and complex Roman urban site of the 18th century.
The church was started in 1503 (by Louis XII) and consecrated
80 years later. The "Spanish Steps" is considered one of the most
romantic spots in Rome.

From the bottom of the
stairs, we look towards
the Trinita dei Monti church.

of travertine by Francesco
De Sanctis between 1723
and 1726, the Scalinata
consists of 12 flights which
widen and narrow in compact
but varied states in no way
bound by rigid schemes, in
line with rococo
architectural concepts.
