Piazza di Spagna II

Fontana della Barcaccia
Another work by Pietro Bernini,
this fountain (1627-29) stands
at the center of the piazza, and
acts as sort of a fulcrum for
the many buildings all around.
It is a representatin of a sinking
boat, leaking water at the stern
and at the prow.

The romance of the Spanish
steps does not escape my
camera. I took this picture
while holding my camera at my
hip, so as not to draw the ire
of these two. In hind sight, I
seriously doubt they would have
paid me any attention ...

street full of high end
shops and boutiques.
