Piazza Venezia
With as much history to it as builders, construction, reconstruction,
and more, a whole chapter need be assigned to this plaza. It has
the "Altar of the Nation," the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the largest
structure (shown here) is the "Monument to Vittorio Emmanuele II"
(the first king of a united Italy).

The front façade of
II Vittoriano, known
by many simply as
"the typewriter" or
"weddingcake," for it is so
huge and not very loved.
