This is a Shinto shrine, and
dedicated to to the worship
of the spirit of Toshimoto
Hino. He was one of the
supporters of the emperor in
Kyoto that was trying to
overthrow the Kamakura
government in the 1300's..

Tokei-ji Temple
Women's Refuge

In 1285, Shokozan Tokeiji
Temple was founded in
Kamakura by Kakusanshidoni,
Hojo Tokimune's wife. This
temple was a sanctuary for
women seeking divorce and
succeeded as
a sanctuary for
almost 600 years..

Jochiji Temple
