The Hama-rikyu Gardens

This area was a hunting ground for the Tokugawa Shogunate in the 17th
century. In 1704, it became a shogun's second residence, and was called
"Hama-goten (palace)" - renamed to Hama-rikyu during the Meiji era.
The Emporer Meiji met with President/General Grant of the USA here,
and it has a waterfront location on today's Tokyo Bay.

The garden here has turned
yellow with rape blossoms.
In the fall, it has various
hues of cosmos.

Shiori-no-ike Pond. This is the
only sea water pond in Tokyo.
As the sea water tide ebbs
and flows in this pond, it
simultaneously changes the
scenery.

A Japanese bride today
is getting her beautiful
photographs done in her
extravagent, and lovely
kimono. She walks across
the wooden bridge, with
blossoming cherry trees
surrounding her.

Our photographer looks
perplexed either at the one
wrinkle in her extravagant
kimono, or at all the half wit
foreigners taking
pictures of her.

She is attended by our
photograph, who also
appears to be a well
versed kimono tailer,
as we walk slowly and
pass her by.

A pink rose as beautiful
as a flower. Wait, a pink
rose as beautiful as a
beautiful flower. Hmm.
A nice pretty flower.

calming, Hama-rikyu Gardens.

Here, our cherry tree

and forth in the caressing
wind. Very calming,
even for a hyperactive
guy like me.
