Boat Ride down the Sumida River

Embarking at the port in the district of Asakusa, we took an
interesting water boat ride down the main river of Tokyo. Our
destination was the Hama-rikyu gardens.

Some sort of passenger
boat cruises on by.
As it appears to have no
right angles, it is certainly
noteworthy for
its extreme
immunity to being picked
up by radar.

Many bridges span the
river, here being a very
simple one, in that it has
such few suspension
lines supporting it.

Much like the Dutch in
Rotterdam, the intense
bombing campaigns of
their enemies during World
War II have left these
cities with opportunities
for contemporary bridge
building, with balance,
grace, and strength at the
forefront of such utility.

Micky and Hello Kitty
on this building wall. You
can see Hello Kitty has a
square hole in her head
by the window behind.
Mickey only got clipped
in the right ear.
