Praça de Dom Pedro IV

Yet another wonderful little plaza, with a bronze statue of Dom Pedro IV high
above the ground, and a very interesting bronze fountain beneath. Erected in 1870.

A funny detail about the statue of Dom Pedro IV. Some say that the
statue represents the last Mexican emperor. The statue was inside a ship
that was at the Lisbon harbour when the emperor was dethroned. A statue of
the Portuguese king was needed and someone decide to buy this one, at a
much cheaper price. I guess it's all supply and demand :)
