Palácio de Queluz

In 1747, Pedro, younger son of Joâo V, commissioned Mateus Vicente to transform his
17th-century hunting lodge into a Rococo summer palace. A very impressive palace
was the result, though no pictures were allowed to be taken inside.

 

Standing in front of the
famed Palace Gardens,
adorned with statues,
fountains and topiary,
often used for
entertaining.
