With references back to Homer's Odyssey, here in Foça you
can hear the songs of the Sirens each evening as the
Mediterranean winds whip across the rocks just offshore. A
number of towns across the eastern shores do claim the Homer
reference. Homer was born just up the road in modern Izmir.

The fresh fish come in daily
in this small fishing town.
The restaurants always
serve up wonderful and
inexpensive dishes.

always ready to play and
enjoy the afternoon warmth.
Another thing of note were
the amazing numbers of cats
here; the biggest beggars
in all of Turkey; especially
when you are eating a fabulous
fish dinner on the docks.
