Among the most spectacular ruins in Turkey, Pergamum
was one of the ancient world's major powers, rising to
prominance in the 3rd and 2nd centuries BC. We actually only
saw the acropolis area; not realizing how much more there was
was (and consequently not photographed here).

Bergama beneath.
