Göreme Open Air Museum - Part III
The Monestery of Nuns, the Shod Church and the last chimneys.

The Shod Church

It is presumed that the church
derives its name from the foot
prints below the scene showing
the ascension of Christ. Dating
back to the end of the 12th
century, this is one of the
largest churches in the
museum.

Now on to what I hope and
"pray" is the Barbara Church.
The north, south and west
sides of the church are barrel
vaulted. The eastern arm of
the crucifix has one main and
two side abcissas and the
center is domed.
