Igirdir, Central Turkey.

We spent one night here in Igirdir, in the pansione of somewhat
famed "Choo Choo Cherry." Choo Choo was a most interesting
individual (formerly part of the entourage of Andy Warhol),
and was so kind as to invite us to his private roof deck
where we enjoyed a chilly night in his most unique company.

Before we got to Igirdir,
we drove a long way. Our
faithfull little Fiat here
got covered in black tar,
which the Turks just
dump out in hot liquid form
onto the dirt mountain
roads ...

After the major earthquake
of 1999
. Turkey simply
stopped most construction
of all unreinforced
concrete multi story
complexes ...

of unfinished high rises to
forever remain vacant,
until perhaps the next
major earthquake reduces
