The Tomb Of Amynthas, the symbol of Fethiye.
This tomb, for Amynthas, the son of Hermapias,
was created in the 4th century BC, in the Ionic order.

As we drive up to the tomb,
we see a sign that says
"Amynthas Park"

Cut from the sheer rock,
it is an amazing contrast
with great "marbling" from
the veins within the rock.

With Fethiye beyond and to
the left, the Tomb of Amyntas
controlls an excellent position,
no coincidence to am sure.

The entrance to the main
grave within even has
faux iron studs carved into
the rock face.

Inside are the slabs where
the corpses were laid out.

Bonnie walks along the narrow
road that needs to accomodate
parked cars and moving buses
as well. As this bus came by,
every parked car had to be
moved; a none to common
occurence on the very common
narrow roadways along the
mountain sides of Turkey.
