Letoon
In honour of Leto, mother of Apollo and Artemis,
who where fathered by Zeus. Going back to the 7th
century BC, excavacation began with Dr. H. Megzer in 1962.
Letoon contains three temples, side by side, as well as a
sacred spring, an amphitheatre from Roman times, and more.

Letoon was a center of cult activity and an
inhabited settlement until the 7th century, when
it was subsequently abandoned.
